Becker’s recognized expertise in the Toy Industry and unique background in developmental child psychology, coupled with her extensive experience in licensing, intellectual property, contract negotiation and enforcement, make her highly sought after as a Marketing Consultant and Licensing Agent. Prior to founding Becker Associates LLC, Becker worked in a variety of management capacities for Knickerbocker Toy Company, Amtoy, a Division of American Greetings Corporation, Sunbeam Corp. and Anjar Co.  Becker established the first Play Therapy Clinics at Massachusetts General and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospitals; directed the Stamford Inter-District Summer School Program with 277 students and a staff of 37, secured the first national grant as the Assistant Director of The Children’s Community, an innovative early childhood program encompassing a 40% homeless population, taught reading and math at the elementary and high school level, and Marketing at SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology. Her Masters’ Thesis, “The Marketing of Toys and Games in the 19th, 20th, and 21st Centuries,” predicted the growth of global toy marketing and provided key research in the marketing of early games. Becker received an MBA in marketing (Stern Business School, NYU), a BA in developmental child psychology and education (Tufts), and has a formal background in art. 

Patti was recently honored to receive the prestigious Wonder Women of Toys, Licensing and Entertainment “Licensing Agent Award”. She is an Expert Consultant for the Toy Industry Association and the Society of Industry Leaders, A Standard & Poor’s Business, consulting on many issues relating to the Youth Market, the Licensing Industry, and College Admissions. She has authored articles for Playthings Magazine and antique game journals and been a Professional Speaker at ToyCon, KidScreen Summit, and many global Women in Toys (WIT) events. Becker is a Charter Member of the Antique Game Collectors Association (now AGPA), and a member of the Toy Industry Association, Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association, and Tufts Alumni Association Program. She’s also on the Board of Directors of the Segal Family Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, CT, and President of the Board of Directors of Women in Toys (WIT).  Under Patti’s leadership, WIT has seen explosive growth into more than 23 countries on five continents, including six regions of the US.
